What airplanes are included?

At this time the Cessna 150, N4696X, and Cessna 172, N6858X, located at Shafter Minter Field are offered in this promotion.

Can I split the cost and fly with a buddy?

Of course! This promotion allows you and 1 other pilot can pay the single promotional price and both of you can fly the aircraft as much, together, solo, or with your flight instructor(s).

Do I have to schedule my flights?

Yes. All flights much be scheduled, dispatched, and checked in using our flight scheduling software “Flight Circle.” All pilots using this promotion must have their profiles filled out and the rental agreement signed prior to the first flight. We encourage you to schedule your flights in advance to ensure you have the flight times you want. Should you schedule a flight and cancel within 24 hours of the flight, a $50 cancelation fee will be applied to your account.

I’m a flight instructor. Can I use this promo to offer flight instruction?

No. Flight instructors can rent the aircraft for personal use, however cannot offer flight instruction with it. Your students CAN rent the aircraft and bring you along to receive instruction from. All flight instructors must be checked our and approved prior to giving instruction in the aircraft.

What if the airplanes are down for maintenance?

Should one of the aircraft be down for maintenance, you will use the other aircraft. If both of the aircraft are down for maintenance, we will extend your promotion time 1 day for each day both aircraft are down for maintenance.

Can I get a refund if I quit flying before the 30 days?

There are no refunds for this promotion. Extenuating circumstances will be evaluated on a case by case basis by Seipel Aviation, LLC.

Do I have to Aircraft Renters Insurance?

Yes. Pilots using this promotion are required to have renters insurance to cover $50,000 in hull damage at a minimum. We can suggest insurance companies, however we recommend all renters research all insurance companies and choose the one best for them.

Can I take the aircraft overnight?

Yes. The promotion allows you to fly anytime as much as you want. This promotion does not cover the overnight fee, however. For each night you have the aircraft away from Shafter Minter Field (KMIT) a fee of $158 will be added to your account.

Can I use the aircraft to give air tours, give rides, or haul cargo?

No. During this promotion the renter may not use the aircraft for any commercial operations to include but not limited to air tours, rides/charters for hire, transportation of goods, etc.

Can I take my friends with me on a weekend trip?

Of course! This promotion allows you to travel with whoever you want. So long as you are not flying for hire, and the aircraft remains within flying limits, passengers are allowed. There is an overnight fee of $158 that is not covered by the promotion.

Can I fly the aircraft at night?

Yes. A night checkout is required unless the renter has an instrument rating and is current. Our Chief Flight Instructor must still approve.

How do I pay for the promotion?

We accept all major credit and debit cards (with a 3.5% fee). Checks, Cash and and ACH are free of any additional charges.

Is fuel and oil included?

This is a dry promotion. You will be responsible for the cost of fuel. After each flight you must refuel the aircraft to the starting fuel level (specific to each aircraft type). Oil is included in the cost of the promotion though. Oil is kept in the aircraft, and at the check in of the flight please annotate how much oil is used.
